Lord Howe Island is a small Pacific island (56 sq km) 500 km east of the NSW North Coast. It was established in 1834 and named after the First Lord of the Admiralty, Richard Howe. The island presents a unique holiday destination with numerous lodges & motels and with over 400 fish and 80 coral species. Only 10% of its forests have been cleared for agriculture.
